Payroll Clerk
Are you looking for a new opportunity in your career? Track Utilities is offering a HR/Payroll Clerk in our HR department. This position will work closely with the payroll supervisor to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, and clerical duties relating to the recording, processing, and issuing of weekly payroll, and serve as a resource for employees with payroll concerns. This person should be dependable and detail oriented and looks forward working as part of a team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

o Collect, compile and enter payroll data using appropriate software

o Calculate and post payroll deductions

o Process payroll by established deadlines

o Issue statements of earnings and deductions

o Reconcile employee deductions

o Investigate and correct payroll discrepancies and errors

o Update payroll records by recording changes including insurance coverage, loan payments, salary increases

o Process new employees, terminations, transfers and promotions

o Address employee's pay-related concerns and provide accurate payroll information

o Complete requests for pay-related documents including statements and verifications

o Develop, manage and maintain comprehensive payroll records

o Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines

o Review time and attendance reports for accuracy and record worked hours, overtime, leave, deductions, raises and other pertinent payroll information

o Assist the HR Manager and Payroll Supervisor with payroll related issues as requested

o Keep employee records and computer records updated with current employee information, i.e. rates, W4 status, benefit status, address or telephone numbers, etc.

o Up-keep of I-9 documentation in files as well as I-9 binder.

o Perform manual update of vacation accruals

o Complete employment verification and return to specific agencies.

o Respond to outside inquiries from state agencies requiring payroll information.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

o Knowledge of processing payroll

o Quick at data entry using the computer / 10-Key

o Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy under time constraints

o Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning employee data

o Strong interpersonal skills and solid team working abilities

o Sound work ethics and flexibility

o Strong decision making and analytical thinking ability

o Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

o Bi-Lingual a plus

Education & Experience

+ High school diploma or equivalent

+ 2 year's payroll experience a plus
